How Can Counselling/Therapy Help?

Therapy is a confidential space to share your feelings and thoughts.  I am very much guided in my work by what my client brings.

All sessions are for 1 hour and are mostly on a weekly basis.  It is up to each individual how long they feel they need to attend, but as a guide:  short term means 6-8 weeks for a more specific issue.

This doesn’t mean you cannot be in therapy for longer, just time to check out how things are going.  Non-limited which is longer than 6 weeks because you might decide to look at other aspects of your life which you hadn’t thought of bringing before.

It can be daunting making the first step but if you are reading this, then you already have.

About Therapy

SOMETIMES it can be helpful to seek support from outside of your circle of friends and family. Counselling, in this sense, is unique.  Counselling is a talking and listening therapy and it offers a non-judgemental space where you can speak in confidence about your difficulties. It is a space to share your feelings and thoughts and where your feelings and thoughts will be acknowledged.

I work with clients who come about a variety of problems and issues, here are just some of them and in no particular order:

  • Relationship difficulties
  • Abuse
  • Anger
  • Bereavement
  • Identity issues
  • Depression
  • Self harm
  • Intimacy issues

If you do not see something here which you feel you would like to discuss, please call or email me as this list is only a guideline and it doesn’t mean I only work with issues in these areas.
